Cartoon World

In a world where everything and everyone is two dimensional, where people can do impossible things and chipmunks can sing...this is me.

Yesterday at Brookhaven's graduation party, the college provided free food to all of its students (which was absolutely delicious). Also in appearance were several band groups providing live music, and a cartoon artist for the many people who decided to stop and get their picture drawn. It was amazing to watch him, because he drew pictures like this in less than three minutes! In the three and a half hours he was there, I wouldn't be surprised if he drew over a hundred faces!

When I was finally brave enough to get up there, I loved the picture he drew of me. So, I thought it would be fun to make a post of my cartoon-self here on Blogger, where things are also 2-D...so that way the cartoon would have a place to belong. :)

"I Stand at the Door and Knock"

In Luke 11:5-10, it reads:

"And [Christ] said unto them, Which of you shall have a friend, and shall go unto him at midnight, and say unto him, Friend, lend me three loaves; For a friend of mine in his journey is come to me, and I have nothing to set before him?
And he from within shall answer and say, Trouble me not: the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give thee.
I say unto you, Though he will not rise and give him, because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity he will rise and give him as many as he needeth.
And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you."

The Savior is our friend who will give us the Bread of Life we need to return to live with God. We must go to Him and ask. We must seek Him out, and knock on His door, supplicate Him through prayer. He will never fail us, and will always give us all that we ask when our heart is right with Him, and our desires are pure.

Likewise, the Savior said in Revelation 3:20, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me." We know that the Savior will always open His door to us. We are constantly given the opportunities to grow and gain better understanding through the Lord's spirit by serving others, keeping His commandments, attending church, studying the scriptures, and praying. When we find the Savior knocking on our door, what will be our response? I hope that mine will be to open to Him who has saved all of mankind, for He is the only Way back into Eternal Life.

I bear testimony that Jesus Christ lives, and that His Atonement and Gospel is the Good News of this world. I bear testimony that His church has been restored in its entirety here upon the earth through His prophet Joseph Smith, and that President Thomas S. Monson is our Lord's Prophet here on earth today. I bear witness that the Bible and the Book of Mormon bear joint testimony of Christ, and that in them the scripture Ezekiel 37:16-17 has been fulfilled. I know that these things are true by the personal witness I have received from His Holy Spirit, and I bear solemn testimony of them in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

I Miss You!

I wanted to color a few pictures to represent Austin and I, and this is how it turned out. I think it looks rather cute! :) I thought I would put them next to the picture Austin gave me at Thanksgiving when he came to visit.

I miss you tons, Austin, and I can't wait until I can see you again!
