Moses Basket Bedding

What is a pregnant girl to do when she can't sleep anymore? Make some girly bedding for her Moses Basket! :) That's right, I made this bedding you see now all on my own! Last night when Austin went to scouts, I headed off to Hobby Lobby for some materials, and then got right down to work. I did most of the sewing last night...all except the top part of the bumpers--but I pinned that together before I finally went to bed last night. It was very late, I must admit!

This morning I also cut some ribbon for the ties and sewed them in when I sewed the top trim into the bumpers. Then I googled how to tie a pretty bow (so the basket would look extra nice for the blog!), and had at it! :)

What do you think? Not bad for a beginner sewer and her trusty sewing machine! :) I was pretty proud of myself for being able to do this without getting frustrated...

Here is the up-close shot of the material I used, and the eyelet trim. I'm just so excited for this little girl to get here soon! :)

The Pictures (Look for Explanation in Blog Below...)

Getting bigger!

This is one of the grocery bags that I sewed! This is the "side shot" of the bag...I made the handles and sewed them in too! :)

The front view of the bag.

Sorry this is in two separate posts...I just got a new card reader, since I had been having problems anyways with the old one...and since it wouldn't work at all tonight, I figured better to be prepared, and not sorry--we wouldn't want to have to go without pictures when the baby comes! :) So, here are the pictures...hope you enjoyed!

What's New?

Several things, actually...the least being that when I went to upload some photos, neither my computer (nor Austin's even!) would read my camera card plug in. So I guess this post about how big I'm looking these days, and about some grocery bags I sewed this past week will have to be picture-less for now. :(

Last week when I went to my appointment I was measuring a week ahead, and everything was looking good for our little girl! :) Not too much to report in this area, other than I'm feeling very pregnant, and many people at church have commented that I looked like I got very pregnant very fast. Probably because I can hardly sit for any period of time anymore. However, our little girl is still moving around quite a bit (especially lately), and I'm looking forward to her arrival very soon--she's due in just 5 more weeks! :)

On another note, I have been fairly industrious lately, cleaning house, washing up all our baby clothes, and sewing grocery bags! :) I was pretty proud of my grocery-bag-making, since the bags are much bigger than the kind you could buy at the store, and cute as well! :) I made them out of sheets that were on sale last week at Anna's Linens, because it is much less expensive that way, and everyone likes to save money! :) Austin and I were excited to use them this past weekend when we went to do our shopping at Aldi, and are happy to report that they worked fantastic! We used just four bags, and it made carrying our groceries to and from the car SO much easier!!! :) (FYI: at Aldi they don't give you plastic bags, so you can either provide your own, or buy some paper bags or some re-usable bags that they sell there...but nothing was as good as the bags we brought, of course!)

I wish that I could post pictures for everyone, but until then...I guess you will just have to wait and see! I will try and figure something out, because I can't not post pictures this close to the baby being born! :( Hopefully I can get something sorted out soon...
